Mary&Marie is just about 3 1/2 years old! Can you believe it? Neither can I. But: the last 6 months have resulted in no new posts-- something that has been unavoidable as I establish myself as an adjunct professor while working to finish my PhD. (Speaking of-- please pray for ease of data collection and analysis this summer!)
That is-- I haven't been posting because much of my life lately looks like this:
That is-- I haven't been posting because much of my life lately looks like this:
I'm discontent with my neglect of this site while I work on the credentials that both support my work here and spurred on my desire to create Mary&Marie in the first place. So I'm going to try to change that.
Here's what's going to happen:
1) I will be suspending my typical, longer-length posts until my PhD is completed. The goal for this right now is December, so this would mean at least until the end of this year.
2) Instead, I will begin writing short posts that present an issue or idea only briefly. This will be a series that I am somewhat tongue-in-cheek naming "If I had time (I'd write about)." Once I return to standard posts, I may explore some of these topics in more depth. Or not. We'll see. But this will enable me to continue to connect and communicate the issues and topics that are close to my heart while I'm completing this journey.
3) I will be exploring the possibility of talks/events/videos in the future. Depending on how research goes, some of this could happen in the late fall/early winter, or next year. But if you have an idea or venue and you'd be interested in hosting or partnering with me, I'd love to talk to you! (I'd be interested in giving a talk at your church, in leading a discussion in your classroom, in creating a workshop for your Bible study, and more.)
I don't think God is done with my exploration of these topics yet, so I'll still be here. In the meantime, do please pray for my research and that God would continue to lead both my PhD journey, and my Mary&Marie one.
